With its spectacular
scenic roads rising to great heights and through dramatic
scenery, Switzerland is tailor-made for those who enjoy
riding in the mountains. We shall ride routes that include
some of the most famous mountain passes such as Furka, Grimselpass
and Susten. Interlaken, our base for two days, lies on a
narrow strip of land between the two lakes, Thunersee and
Briensee. On our days off there will be the choice of riding
the mountain roads to the ski resort of Grindewald or visit
the spectacular Trummelbach waterfalls. Those who don’t
fancy riding may take a cable car to the alpine garden on
the Schynige Pllate or visit the summit of the Heimwehfluh
and the Top of Europe / Jungfrau that can be reached by
a short ride on a funicular railway. From Interlaken we
move on to our next destination at the world’s most
glamorous ski resort St Moritz. Here we shall stay in a
family run hotel with a restaurant and safe parking. The
next day we venture into Italy to explore the Stelvio National
Park, the charming alpine village of Glorenza and ride the
challenging Passo dell Stelvio. On the return leg of our
tour we shall pass through Liechtenstein and the Black Forest
in Germany.
