FRANCE;
We’ll ride through rural France using a combination
of motorways and small roads. After about 150 miles we’ll
leave the motorway and use small country roads towards our
first destination. With a short stop for lunch at the charming
little town of Sezanne we shall arrive at our three star hotel
located in an ancient forest, with a swimming pool, its’
own excellent restaurant and secure parking.
GERMANY;
Our next destination, in the Black Forest of Germany is an
idyllically located family run hotel situated by a small lake
and surrounded by a pine forest. Here we’ll be welcomed
by the Lauble family and have an opportunity to enjoy true
German hospitality. We also ride a section of the famous B500,
pass Lake Titisee and Lake Konstanz and visit the spectacular
waterfalls of the river Rhein.
SWITZERLAND;
Our Swiss leg of the tour is shared between two destinations;
Wilderswil, a peaceful alpine village just outside Interlaken,
and the glitzy ski resort of St Moritz. Days off can be used
to take a short ride to visit the ski resort of Grindewald
or the spectacular Trummelbach waterfalls. Another option
is to take a ride on a funicular railway to the alpine garden
on the Schynige Platte or visit the summit of the Heimwehfluh
and the Top of Europe / Jungfrau. En route between these two
destinations we shall also ride some of the most famous mountain
passes in Switzerland - the Grimsel and Furka. A short break
at the Furka pass can be used to take a stroll around and
inside the glacier.
ITALY;
As we continue through the imposing Dolomites we’ll
pass by the crystal clear alpine lake of Misurina where we
usually stop for a spot of lunch. Our four star hotel has
a swimming pool, wellness area, games room, an excellent restaurant
with a bar and its own underground parking. The hotel is situated
in an alpine valley surrounded by thick pine forests and the
jagged peaks of the Dolomites. On our way to St Moritz we’ll
ride through the Stelvio National Park, have lunch in the
charming alpine village of Glorenza or, weather permitting,
ride the challenging Passo dello Stelvio.
SLOVENIA;
In Slovenia our four star hotel, with a swimming pool, restaurant
and safe parking, overlooks a tranquil lake, a picturesque
stone bridge and an old church, all surrounded by breathtaking
mountains. Only a short walk away there is a cable car ride
to the ski resort of Vogel or a further walk to the spectacular
waterfalls of the Savica river. En route to Croatia, time
permitting we’ll stop at the famous Postojna caves and
castle of Predjama.
AUSTRIA;
The Austrian leg of any of our tours has always been a very
special treat for all of our clients as well as for us. It’s
all down to a combination of stunning scenery, well maintained
roads and of course the exceptional hospitality we receive
each time from our hosts Helga and Peter. With their meticulous
attention to detail we’ll be treated upon our arrival
with a warm welcome drink and a slice or two of home made
cake and in the evening we’ll be served with a delicious
seven course meal. Oh, and yes, weather permitting, we shall
ride the Silvretta Pass.
CROATIA;
For the next three nights we’ll stay in the coastal
resort of Porec in a three star hotel near the marina with
a restaurant and safe parking. This part of Croatia is surrounded
by mountains and because of its warm Mediterranean climate
is often referred to as the French Riviera of Eastern Europe.
On our days off we can visit the remains of the Roman amphitheatre
in Pula, the medieval town of Groznjan and the smallest town
in Europe with the grand population of fourteen residents.
